Lennie’s Manly Blog
Welcome at » Wheeks

Lennie passed away last night.  After about six months of a heart condition, he passed away in our arms, at home, surrounded by love and snuggles.

Our handsome Lennie,  our furry little eggplant, the manliest manly pig ever gave us almost four years together.  We rescued him from a small cage he shared with a bunny, at an estimated age of one and a half years.  He was so nervous, he shed all over as we just held him.

The fur on Lennie’s head concealed the very special Lennie spot, and he had to constantly eat hay to replenish its magical powers for when we were feeling down and needed the topical application of a Lennie.

I took these videos just last weekend of him enjoying some blueberries while we again adjusted his medication to hopefully make him more comfortable while we treated his heart condition.

In 2007 Lennie had two bladder stones in the span of three months.  We were afraid then that we’d lose him, but thanks to the wonderful staff of the Angell Memorial Animal Medical Center exotics staff, Lennie pulled through and continued to bring  joy to our hearts and our home as well as the staff at the hospital and everyone who cared for him.

We’ll miss you Lennie.  Our sweet boy.

Two hay racks just aren’t enough.

It’s bad enough that I have to reach so far to get my hay that mommy mistakenly puts in Pigwidgeon’s hay rack.  I obviously need more hay.
